STEP FIVE, FOUNDATIONS
Part 3 of 5
The Two Realms of Reality
Of all the sections in The Unadorned Gospel, this section is one of
the shortest, and one of the most important
.  Understanding the two
realms of reality is basic to understanding the world around us, and the
gospel.

The Two Realms of Reality

By observing the world around us, we have distinctly seen two realms, or
two domains, of reality.

We live in a realm of constant change.  God lives in a realm of
permanence.  We live in a realm of mortality.  God is immortal.  We live in
a temporal realm featuring the constant movement of time.  God dwells in
eternity.  Our world on earth is visible and physical.  His realm in Heaven
is invisible and spiritual.

These two realms/domains are also called kingdoms.  The invisible realm is the
Kingdom of God.  The visible realm is the kingdom of men. The two
realms/domains/kingdoms have also been called cities, as in the City of God
and the city of men.  Whatever they are called, the reality is the same.

(Side note:   When God created the visible world He gave dominion and
authority over it to men.  When Adam was deceived, Satan wrested Adam's
authority from him.  Thus Satan is called both usurper and prince of this world.)

Bottom Line

What may be known about God is plain to men, because God has made it plain
to them.  For since the beginning of time, when God's eternal power created
the original state of things, God's invisible qualities have been clearly seen.
Men need only observe the things God has made in order to understand the
nature of reality and a lot about God and His invisible realm.

Simply, men know God.

Part 4 of Step Five, gives a transition from rationality, logic, and  material
evidence, to what we must learn from divine revelation.  From Part 5 on, we
rely most heavily on divine revelation, without forgetting the foundation laid by
the use of our rational minds.
